From Office to Anywhere: How Smart Leaders Build High-Performing Remote Teams, by Carrie Collins, JD, PhD, offers a practical blueprint for modern leadership in today's distributed workplace.
The book introduces the REMOTE Leadership Framework: a practical, research-informed approach to leading distributed teams with clarity, trust, accountability, and engagement. Grounded in real-world examples, it equips leaders with actionable strategies they can apply immediately, whether leading a hybrid department, a fully remote team, or a workforce distributed across the globe.
From the author…
I didn't set out to write a book about remote work. I set out to answer a question: Why are so many capable leaders struggling in a world where work has fundamentally changed? Organizations have transformed where work happens, yet many leadership practices are still rooted in assumptions built for the office. The result is a growing gap between the way people work and the way many leaders have been taught to lead.
Throughout my career as an executive, leadership scholar, attorney, and change management practitioner, I've watched organizations navigate periods of profound transformation. Again and again, the organizations that succeed are not simply the ones with the best technology or the most flexible work policies. They are the ones whose leaders intentionally create clarity, trust, accountability, and connection.
From Office to Anywhere is my response to that challenge. The REMOTE Leadership Framework provides practical strategies leaders can use immediately to build high-performing teams—whether those teams work remotely, in hybrid environments, or across multiple locations around the world.
